Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our finance team. We work with a lot of S-Cops and Partnerships in a variety of industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing tax planning and compliance for individual and corporate tax returns, ensuring adherence to current tax regulations and optimizing tax strategies for our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review individual and corporate tax returns including 1040, 1120, and partnership returns.
- Provide tax planning and advisory services to clients to minimize tax liabilities.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations and assist in tax audits as needed.
- Coordinate with clients to gather necessary tax documentation and information.
- Stay updated on changes to tax laws and regulations affecting clients' tax situations.
- Assist less experienced tax staff with training and development in tax preparation and planning.
- Evaluate tax implications of business transactions and provide strategic recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in tax accounting or preparation.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance and regulations, particularly concerning 1040 and 1120 forms.
- Experience with tax planning and consulting for S Corporations and partnerships is a plus.
- Familiarity with GAAP and tax accounting principles.
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with clients and team members.
